Always prewash your fabric before cutting to prevent future shrinkage.
Step 2: Prepare Your Sewing Pattern
Before cutting your fabric:
- Print your PDF sewing pattern.
- Assemble the pages.
- Check the test square.
- Select your size.
- Transfer all markings carefully.
Taking a few extra minutes here will save time later.
Step 3: Cut Your Fabric Carefully
Lay your fabric flat and follow the grainline indicated on the pattern pieces.
Accurate cutting is one of the most important steps for achieving a professional-looking garment.
Step 4: Sew the Dress Step by Step
Assemble your garment one section at a time.
Remember to:
- Press every seam.
- Finish raw edges.
- Check the fit before final stitching.
- Sew slowly around curves.
Small details make a big difference.
Step 5: Add the Finishing Touches
Hem your dress carefully and give it a final press.
